Making college a memorable experience involves a great many things: courses, professors, picking a major, making new friends. But when you are non-traditional student with a family, living on campus might sometimes have a negative perception. The West Edge Student Housing project is the exception and proved that instead, it can be positive and enjoyable. West Edge is a newly constructed multi-family apartment building on the University of Colorado’s Colorado Springs campus. It consists of 195 units and 620 bedrooms and bathrooms and is punctuated by a five-story parking garage, a multi-level amenity space, and an entertainment facility that includes a fitness room, as well as a gaming and multimedia room and a lounge café area.
Safety is always Job One for RMG. Our structural engineering team secured the building with a fire-treated wood concrete slab and designed the parking garage to be a ventilated pre-cast concrete structure that could house the elevators and that would exceed the required parking to meet a ratio of 1:1 with the combination of surface parking.
