SOILS LABORATORY Technician

We are seeking a Soils Laboratory Technician for employment in our Colorado Springs, Colorado office.

As a Soils Lab Technician, you will be responsible for performing soil, asphalt, and concrete testing in our materials laboratory, in support of geotechnical and construction materials testing projects.

What you’ll be doing:

Including but not limited to:

  • Perform soil testing and analysis to determine its composition and characteristics
  • Conduct laboratory tests on soil samples to assess their physical and chemical properties
  • Hydrometer and Permeability testing
  • Strength testing of concrete and cementitious materials
  • Physical characteristic tests of Hot-mix Bituminous Asphalt (e.g. Bulk Specific Gravity, Maximum Theoretical (Rice) Specific Gravity, A/C content, etc.)

Abilities you bring to RMG:

  • A High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Must be able to work independently and within teams to achieve goals
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Ability to interpret specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and laboratory procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Must be able to walk and stand continuously throughout the day
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds regularly
  • Requires a valid, clean driver’s license, as travel to job sites may be required occasionally
  • Must continue to maintain a safe driving record and valid driver’s license to fulfill the travel requirements of this position

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 – $22.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • Construction: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Driver’s License (Preferred)
